Last Saturday, Wave Arts Education Agency and Arts University Bournemouth hosted a hugely well received creative arts day, Hammer & Play, attended by 60+ teachers from across the school phases. James Edward Philip Rotheram from the now world-famous Feversham Academy, Bradford, led a brilliant session on how the Kodaly methodology has transformed not only music at his school but also the whole school ethos (and its OFSTED rating). Jimmy will be back in 2019 – watch this space.
Meanwhile look out for Wave’s new Facebook page, coming very soon, and get the dates Saturday 23 March and Friday 14 June 2019 in your diaries. 23 March will see a follow up to Hammer & Play, another great CPD opportunity; 14 June will see the return of OFSTED, Jimmy plus other big names from across the arts education world for Cultural Education Matters 2, at AUB, when we will be further debating the role of the arts in the modern school curriculum, and updating on OFSTED’s new inspection framework…
