School Clubs

Wave is aware of the time pressures within schools brought on by the need to achieve good  SATS scores and deliver “core” curriculum subjects successfully. This can have a detrimental impact on the time allotted for the delivery of “creative” subjects, such as Arts and Design, or Music. There is also increasingly a shortage of specialist staff within certain schools to deliver arts or cultural education workshops effectively.

If you are struggling with your creative offer in your school, why not look at setting up an after school arts, dance or drama club?

Wave has start up funds available in 2016/17 for Wave/SoundStorm member schools to set up such a club.

  • We can supply a start-up grant of £300 to help get the Club going
  • We can help source you a practitioner to lead the Club – or can fund a member of staff from your school
  • We can potentially provide you with venues in which to display or perform works of art/performances as work is developed.

This offer is open to primary and secondary Wave Member schools. The clubs must be as inclusive as possible.

In order to apply for a grant, you will need to contact us for an application form.  The principal condition you will need to meet is outlining a plan for sustaining the club once the start up grant has been utilised.
