Host an artist for the day and inspire your students through learning new, hands-on skills through half-day workshops in one of these unusual techniques
Target Group: Recommended for upper KS2 (years 4-6) or KS3 (but can be scalable and adaptable depending on class age and ability)
Denise Poote is a freelance professional visual artist experienced at working in education settings and the wider community; and a Fine Art practitioner. She is currently a visiting tutor at Arts University Bournemouth. Denise’s work is usually generated site specifically, responding to the history and context of a project. What’s included?
A full day of input for each participating school, with workshops in either notan, wire sculpture or book-making.
Up to 3 workshops in that day (80 minutes minimum needed per workshop: this can be in the form of 2 adjacent 40 minute lessons).
Each student creates a piece of art through learning a new technique.
All materials provided
Workshops can be adapted to fit in with other curriculum topics
