Arts Award

Arts Award for 7-25 year olds

Arts Award inspires young people to grow their arts and leadership talents; it’s creative, valuable and accessible!

Discover and Explore the two new levels of Arts Award were introduced in April 2012 for young people aged 7 upwards – see full details at www.artsaward.org.uk/7plus

Arts Award is…

  • a great way for children and young people to be inspired by and enjoy the arts
  • offered at five levels, four accredited and one introductory award
  • a framework for learning new skills and sharing them
  • an opportunity to develop creativity and leadership skills
  • a link between young people and creative arts professionals and organisations

The award is a personal learning programme, which develops and assesses both arts-related and transferable skills, such as creativity, communication, planning and teamwork.

Young people are guided through their Award by a trained adviser who might be a teacher, youth worker, artist or other adult in regular contact with them. It can be delivered in a wide variety of settings and practices, including schools, youth centres, arts and cultural organisations, holiday and special arts projects etc.
